Obituary of Alicia "Mirta" Argiz Martinez

Alicia “Mirta” Argiz Martinez passed away peacefully on May 4, 2019 in Tampa, FL. Alicia was born on September 11, 1935 in Habana, Cuba and came to the United States of America in 1961, and lived in Tampa since that time. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease several years ago and was preceded in death by her son Silvio Antonio Argiz Jr., husband Silvio Antonio Argiz and second husband Manuel Martinez. Alicia is survived by her daughter Alicia Argiz-Lyons (Kelly); grandson Jordan Antonio Argiz; sister Gloria del Cueto; nephew Juan del Cueto (Maite), great niece Amanda, great nephew Alex del Cueto (Mary); brother-in-law Antonio Argiz (Conchi), niece Carolina Orozca (Jamie); nephews Tony Argiz, Andy Argiz and Rolando Couto (Cristina); step children Antonio Martinez (Brenda), Manuel Martinez (Senaida) and Maria Vilella (Fernando), step grandchildren, cousins, great nieces and great nephews. A heartfelt thanks to the wonderful caregivers, Carrollwood Care Center staff and Hospice team who helped our family take care of “Mirta.”

A funeral mass will take place on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Help of Christians Church 6400 E. Chelsea St., Tampa, FL 33610 with interment to follow at Garden of Memories Park in Tampa, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children – Tampa, 12502 USF Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612, USF Health Byrd Institute, 4001 E.
